Introduction

License Holder is a user or a role, responsible for SMath license(s) from a customer side. It is an account, registered on our main site https://smath.com and having valid email, used for sending electronic license document and other license related materials like user names and passwords. This account is configured by your software vendor when you purchase SMath license(s). If you want to change it for any reason, please contact your software vendor.

License shared by several employees

If SMath license is shared by several employees, only License Holder will be getting license related information from SMath. It is not mandatory License Holder would be one of the engineers, using SMath product(s). It may be some manager or administrator, having no access to SMath Studio and/or Local Licensing Server at all. As all https://smath.com accounts are provided for free, it does not cause any extra costs if a separate account is created for the License Holder. We just traditionally do not recommend to use any broadcast email addresses for this role like support@mycompany.com as this mailbox may be used for sending security sensitive information.

Local Licensing Server

Another important role of License Holder is it is used to authenticate your Local Licensing Server on a Root Licensing Server after you installed/upgraded it. Namely these credentials are used on a Licenses page in order your Local Licensing Server would get your company related licensing information. It is important to remember if License Holder password was changed on https://smath.com, it needs to be reinputted on a Licenses page of Local Licensing Server. End users will stop getting the licenses in about 24 hours otherwise!

Note: if you are using Local Licensing Server, only License Holder is obliged to have a https://smath.com account. All other users may be only registered on your Local Licensing Server. And even this is not mandatory if you allow anonymous access. In the last case all your end users need to know to start working with SMath Studio is your Local Licensing Server address.
