Introduction

All SMath products, requiring license, by default are getting it from our main portal https://smath.com/ also known as a Root Licensing Server.

Free License

Even if you use free version of SMath Studio you have to get a license. Special Free license is configured on a Root Licensing Server for this purpose. It is why you need a permanent connection to the Root Licensing Server.

Note: Offline Mode may be configured to avoid permanent Internet connection requirement.

Local Licensing Server

Local Licensing Server also require a connection to the Root Licensing Server in order to get an information about the licenses configured for this particular server. The only difference is Local Licensing Server does not require permanent connection. It is enough it is able to contact Root Licensing Server at least once a day.

Note: Offline Mode may be also configured for Local Licensing Server to avoid Internet connection requirement.
